iProgramme to Launch 23 June and provide digital skills

The iProgramme, a scheme funded by the European Social Fund via D2N2 and designed to promote and teach digital skills, will launch on the 30 June via webinar.

The iProgramme is being run by DBC Training who are working in partnership with D2N2, Derby and Nottingham NHS trust, Derbyshire County Council, and Enable.

The launch of the iProgramme will support employed and unemployed individuals in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham, and Nottinghamshire (D2N2) to gain and improve essential digital skills.

Those who can access support range from the unemployed and inactive individuals to businesses who have identified a need for digital skills or individuals who could be at risk of redundancy.

In addition to ESF funding, the scheme draws upon investment from the Department of Work and Pensions to support over 3000 individuals within the D2N2 region with critical digital skills to help ‘boost’ the economy.

Skills Missmatch

The iProgramme has been designed to address the current skills mismatch in D2N2 and plan for the skills required in the digital age.

Activities within this priority will ensure a joined-up approach and meeting the needs of businesses and individuals in a number of ways.

Firstly, the innovative delivery of digital skills to unemployed and inactive individuals to enable them to engage with employment, this includes specific engagement of the most disadvantaged groups or those who face particular local disadvantages in utilising digital skills.

The scheme also seeks to promote skills development and matching services for employers through SBWA and PET approaches.

The iProgramme also seeks to promote apprenticeships by providing relevant training provision to unemployed and inactive individuals to enable them to access apprenticeships, developing a supportive environment for individuals, and include employer engagement.

Finally, the programme also seeks to engage with employers digitally in the post-COVID-19 world.

Those interested in accessing digital skills for the unemployed can attend the launch webinar on the 23 June at 10:00.

Those interested in accessing digital skills for businesses can attend the 30 June webinar at 14:00.
