Learn more about becoming a D2N2 Bootcamps digital skills provider

Recently launched across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, our 12-week skills bootcamps are being delivered in partnership with employers, providers and local authorities to help develop digital and technical skills and boost employability.

Skills Bootcamps are a new Government initiative to give individuals and employers alike the opportunity to build up their digital skills and develop their future opportunities.

A second round of funding for Bootcamps has been released and D2N2 are keen to expand this provision and also consider targeted support to manufacturing businesses to address their digital and technical skills gaps.

To inform the bidding process we are inviting providers to a market warming event to further our existing digital offer and develop thinking on targeted support for manufacturing in D2N2 and potentially in collaboration with other LEPs.

The workshop will take place on 4th February 2021 from 1.30pm-3pm, if you would like to attend please email Sandra.casey@d2n2lep.org to book your place.

Flexible training models to meet digital and technical skills gaps.

The Department for Education is keen to engage projects that will help design, develop and implement a new flexible training model of digital or technical training (up to 16 weeks), to meet the needs of employers and to address the skills shortages vacancies in different regions of England. The development of these Skills Bootcamps will help them understand what works, therefore lowering the level of risk of securing value for money. Learning and evaluation from these initiatives will inform the development of the National Skills Fund.

Employers will be expected to pay 30% of training costs course fees if retraining existing employees but full funding can be made available for unemployed learners to support pipeline into identified vacancies. We anticipate that at least 75% of all trainees will move into a new job or role within six months of completing training.

Key project qualifying criteria:

  • Evidence of need
  • Employer backing / support to ensure relevance of the training offer
  • Providers with strong track record in successful delivery in similar or relevant sectors / skills
  • Training solutions that meet higher technical skills requirements (expected level 3-5 or equivalent).
  • Intensive delivery model – 10-16 weeks
  • Only for participants aged 19+

The closing date for submission for the latest call is 12th February therefore we encourage interested parties to contact us at their earliest opportunity.
