Businesses wanting to sell, advertise and engage with their customers through online video, learnt how at the first in a series of workshops run by the D2N2 Growth Hub.

The YouTube and Video Marketing Workshop was held earlier today (9:00am-12:00pm) at the i-Centre in Mansfield. It was a free workshop run in partnership between Oxford Innovation, which provides business support and advice nationally and the D2N2 Growth Hub, which provides a similar service to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the D2N2 area of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

The D2N2 Growth Hub was set up by the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) – a private-sector-led partnership which works to grow the economy in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire – and the Growth Hub team (pictured) works to help SMEs in the D2N2 area who have ambitions to grow. The Growth Hub provides support, advice, a network of partner organisations and regular workshops on a variety of issues. Since it’s setup in December 2014, the Growth Hub has gone on to be awarded further funding from the European Regional Development Fund, which guarantees its services to D2N2 area SMEs until March 2019.

Today’s workshop was designed for SMEs, sole traders and business owners in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire who were interested in learning more about how to use video to market their business, both on their website and across their social media channels. It was presented by a Trainer from the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce’s Ebusiness club who spoke on:

  • Hosting options for video content including YouTube, Vimeo & Wistia
