Did you know every £1 spent by D2N2 Growth Hub generates £12 of economic value for the region?
A recent independent evaluation of the Growth Hub’s European-funded business support programme showed that over 1,300 businesses were supported, grants were awarded to nearly 200 businesses, and over £1.4m was added to the D2N2 region’s economy. And, for every £1 invested in the D2N2 Growth Hub, it generated over £12 of economic value to the region.
These are just some of the benefits of the D2N2 Growth Hub that are promoted in a new set of videos launched this week by D2N2 and East Midlands Chamber.
The videos explain the Growth Hub’s role as a universal support service for Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire businesses, and cover how plans for the new Accelerator programme will help strengthen and extend the support it offers.
Will Morlidge, Chief Executive of D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership, said:
“Our partnership with East Midlands Chamber has been crucial to the Growth Hub’s success. We’re now working with the Chamber to deliver the next phase of the Growth Hub by introducing the new Accelerator programme to ensure there remains a universal business support offer for our area.”
The Accelerator Programme will provide a local place-based service, delivering targeted business support services in the districts and boroughs of the East Midlands area.
As Diane Beresford, Deputy Chief Executive at East Midlands Chamber, explains:
“Through the Accelerator Programme, we can provide services that are really relevant to our local businesses, meeting the needs of the sectors within our local areas, and ensure the businesses get the right support, at the right time, to help them grow, make sure they can innovate, and most importantly, to ensure that those businesses can take advantage of the technologies that are available and exploit those technologies to grow their operations.”
