Businesses in the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (D2N2) area can enjoy a free half-day masterclass (similar to pictured) on sustaining and growing their operations, in Nottingham and Derby next week.
‘Harnessing Talent – sustaining and growing your business’ will run in Nottingham, on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week (October 17 & 18) at the Jurys Inn, Station Street, Nottingham (NG2 3VJ). Another workshop will also be in Derby on Thursday October 19, at the Jurys Inn, King Street Derby (DE1 3DB). Both workshops are free to attend and are being funded by the D2N2 SKILLS Local programme.
D2N2 is the Local Enterprise Partnership for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. It works across its area to boost the economy and create jobs. As part of this, it has an allocation of European Social Fund (ESF). This helps bring projects which combat long-term unemployment and social exclusion, to fruition.
SKILLS local is a £7million ESF funded programme to support businesses in the D2N2 area. It provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ for employers to access support to raise the skills level of their existing workforce to promote and enable business growth and sustainability. Support includes incentives to encourage apprenticeship pathways and business-led skills solutions.
SKILLS Local is being delivered in partnership between Learndirect, the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), D2N2 LEP and the European Social Fund (ESF).
Learndirect is delivering the SKILLS Local programme and it will also be delivering next week’s workshops. These will look at identifying, recruiting, nurturing and keeping talent at all levels within a business. Workshops will also look at how to review and fill company skills gaps, to create an engaged and committed workforce.
