Places are still available for Innovation and SME Competitiveness Workshop

Places are still available for a free workshop held by the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) tomorrow (January 11).

Running from 10am to 2pm, tomorrow’s workshop will take place at the Oakham Suite, 155 Nottingham Rd, Mansfield (NG18 4AE). It will help businesses and organisations to bid for funding for programmes, to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire innovate and become more competitive.

The D2N2 LEP is a private sector-led partnership which works to promote economic growth across its area. To help its areas businesses to grow, D2N2 has an allocation of European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF). Used for a wide range of purposes, ESIF is made up of the European Social Fund, which addresses issues such as access to employment and helping those who are socially excluded, the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, which is designed to help businesses in rural communities and the European Regional Development Fund, designed to make SMEs more competitive, develop ICT infrastructure, reduce greenhouse gas emissions develop and strengthen research and innovation programmes.

Tomorrow’s workshop is designed to help businesses and organisations with an interest in running programmes to help SMEs in the D2N2 area to grow. It will look at:

  • Investments in practices and technologies to promote productivity
  • Leadership and Management
  • Adoption and exploitation of innovative and productive products and processes
  • Support for early start-up and early stage mentoring
  • Support for export, trade and Foreign Direct Investment
  • Scale up programmes to support small and productive firms to grow.

A free lunch will also be provided for delegates.
