Places are still available on a series of free workshops being held this month (July) – provided through the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership – designed to show businesses and training providers how they can get more from their investment in employment and skills by working together more closely.
With further cuts to public spending announced by Government, D2N2 – a partnership of business, local authorities, skills and training providers, and community and voluntary groups promoting economic growth in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – is aiming to help businesses boost their productivity and workforce skills.
D2N2 has invested in running ‘Skills for a Productive Workforce’ workshops this month, for businesses and those providing skills training across its area. They cover key economic sectors.

Sessions are free for businesses and training organisations to attend. They will each feature expert speakers from the different sectors, and have D2N2 staff on hand to offer help and information on where businesses can access further support, including financial.
The free D2N2 workshops will provide the opportunity to:
- clarify the help available to and challenges for businesses in the D2N2 area;
- hear about work already undertaken by D2N2 to ensure employment and training programmes delivered in its area better meet business needs;
- learn about the support available for businesses and training providers, and how through working together they can make an even greater impact;
- discuss how D2N2, and the businesses and training providers in its area, might influence how Government invests in employment and training programmes in future, to help deliver improved productivity among local workforces.
