In December, stakeholders from across the Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire joined a day of online events and workshops which focused on positioning the region to embrace digital technology to drive productivity for the low carbon agenda.
The event was part of a week-long programme, created by D2N2 LEP, Innovate UK, and KTN and delivered in partnership with the D2N2 Growth Hub and the area’s three Universities – Derby, Nottingham and Nottingham Trent.
Frank Horsley, Head of Business and Innovation at D2N2 LEP said: “The chance to bring together organisations leading the carbon turnaround and embracing industrial digitalisation with those keen to improve their green credentials and boost productivity through innovation in this exciting showcase has been great.
“Central to our Recovery and Growth Strategy is leading the UK’s most ambitious carbon turnaround in the country whilst ensuring our traditional manufacturing base remains world leading by embracing new technology and new market opportunities. Providing opportunities for businesses to accelerate their own net zero journey will play a fundamental role in this strategy.”
Further partner events are planned for throughout 2022 as part of the D2N2 #TheFutureIsNow campaign.
