D2N2 Business Breakfast held at Chesterfield

The third of D2N2’s 2016 series of Business Breakfasts was held today (November 3) at Chesterfield FC’s ProAct Stadium.

The D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership – a private sector-led partnership promoting economic growth and jobs creation in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – each year holds a series of free Business Breakfasts. It is a chance to hear from businesses, and tell them about D2N2’s work on their behalf and how companies can get involved in future projects and funding programmes.

Around 45 delegates today heard from speakers:

  • Peter Richardson, Chair of the D2N2 LEP – On recent D2N2 activities, and its future strategies given national economic changes.
  • David Ralph, Chief Executive of D2N2 – On the economic advantages a proposed HS2 ‘eastern leg’, creating a Toton rail hub in Nottinghamshire and a Staveley maintenance depot in Derbyshire, would bring to the area.
  • Guest business speaker Claire Curzon – Founder and MD of the Chesterfield-based Brighter Directions PR and marketing agency, who spoke about her business journey and her pride in Chesterfield (pictured above).
  • Richard Kirkland, D2N2’s European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) Co-ordinator – On how the LEP is using its allocation of € 250million for projects to aid businesses, skills development and communities over six years (up to 2020).

The first two D2N2 Business Breakfasts of 2016 were held in October, at Derby Silk Mill and Nottingham’s New Art Exchange.

Some tickets are still available for the three remaining D2N2 Business Breakfasts to follow at Mansfield (November 10), Matlock (November 16) and Worksop (November 23). To book online to attend any of these click HERE.
