D2N2 Growth Hub seeks new business advisers

Two new positions are now available at the D2N2 Growth Hub – the free and impartial business support and advice service which operates across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

The D2N2 Growth Hub – part of the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership; the private sector-led partnership which promotes economic and jobs growth across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire – was officially launched by the then Business and Enterprise Minister, Matthew Hancock, on December 5, 2014.

Since then it has provided free training, funding opportunities and advice on accessing finance, workshop sessions on a range of topics, and hosted and attended a wide range of events; to help start-ups and SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) across the D2N2 LEP area to grow.

Applications are now open until May 19 (a week this Friday) for two business advisers to join the Growth Hub team (pictured), who should have proven knowledge and experience of helping SMEs to grow. The roles will also involve identifying a range of public and private business support options which are appropriate to each individual business’s needs and aspirations for growth.

A ‘business brain’ and excellent communication skills are also vital requirements for the new roles, as the D2N2 Growth Hub deals with a wide variety of different businesses, in various stages of development. Each adviser should look to put business needs, wants and performance at the heart of their role, in order to help identify the most effective and efficient ways to create business growth.

Both contracts are full time and are fixed term until March 2019, with the potential for an extension after that time. Nottingham Derby and Chesterfield would all be considered as possible work locations, and a salary of up to £32,000 a year is available. The closing date for applications is Friday, May 19, 2017.

Lindsay Allen, D2N2 Senior Programme Manager (Sector Development), said: “There are a wide range of business support programmes now available across the D2N2 LEP area. It’s vital that businesses are made aware of these and that those managing support programmes are also aware of each other’s offer to business so that clients receive the best possible service which answers their individual needs.”
