Two landmark projects for the region which have been funded by D2N2 have received awards at a prestigious ceremony.
Now in their 21st year, the EMPD Awards, which took place at the De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre, celebrate the success and achievements of companies in the property sector throughout the East Midlands.
Developers St James Securities, along with its advisers Allsop and Rigby & Co, scooped the coveted Deal of the Year award for phase one of the Becketwell scheme. The Property Deal of the Year award recognises those property companies which have completed the major East Midlands property deals over the past 12 months.
Also on the list of winners was Nottingham Castle, which picked up the award for Regeneration and Restoration of the Year. The judges noted that the project, led by Gleeds, GF Tomlinson, Van Elle, MJ Robinson will have a huge impact on the region’s economy, making it a standout entry ticking both the regeneration and restoration boxes.
D2N2 invested a total of £15m into the two projects – £8m to Becketwell and £7m to Nottingham Castle. Each of the projects is expected to bring numerous benefits to the region and play a key role in the recovery of the Derby and Nottingham city centres.
