Our strategic economic plan.
Our first plan, launched in 2013, achieved its key target of creating 55,000 new jobs within three years, as shown in our D2N2 State of the Economy reports.
Vision 2030 is our blueprint for growth over the next decade and outlines some ambitious targets: up to £9 billion in added value in the D2N2 economy, getting us into the top 25% in Europe for productivity, raising earnings, narrowing inequality, and sharing prosperity across all parts of our two cities and two counties.
The period of the new strategy will coincide with some major changes to the world around us – the digital revolution, a transition to renewable energies, and potentially new trading relationships with other countries.
This new plan is a comprehensive economic strategy for the D2N2 area, setting a long term vision and targets and has been built on a comprehensive evidence base and extensive consultation.
Vision 2030 centres on a series of targeted actions intended to help power up our businesses and provide the support they need to boost performance and exploit new opportunities We want to work with you to bring Vision 2030 into focus.
