Tony Tinley

Tony was raised in Derby and became a full time official for Unite the Union some twenty five years ago. During this time he has led the trade union relationship with a range of companies from small to large in the D2N2 area. These have included E.ON, Rolls Royce, Bombardier and Toyota. He has sat on Diversity and Inclusion boards at both Rolls Royce and E.ON. He is a long standing member of the board of the Midlands Aerospace Alliance and was for some time a member of the Derby Renaissance Board. Tony started his career at Rolls Royce as an apprentice Instrument Mechanic and became a shop steward at 22. During the following 17 years he was re-elected annually and eventually became one of the key negotiators both locally and nationally of a multi-union team until he took up a full time role in 1998 with what was then the AEEU.
