Cllr Matthew Relf

Cllr Relf is the Executive Lead Member for Regeneration and Planning at Ashfield District Council. Under his stewardship Ashfield has been very successful in bidding for regeneration funding for the area, securing the largest Towns Fund award in the country. Part of this success can be attributed to the bids including projects that are large in their geographical scope that will bring benefits to the broader region. Many of these projects are focussed on the skills agenda to help ensure businesses in the region can find the staff they need to stay competitive on the global market and people in the area have access to higher paid jobs.

In addition to being a councillor Matthew runs a successful IT consultancy business that helps businesses and organisations across the UK to design, build and deploy better systems that meet their complex requirements so their staff can operate as efficiently as possible. He has a wide range of experience, working with Interflora, the NEC Group, the Building Research Establishment, See Tickets, various train operators and various highways authorities/contractors.
